A Solar Moratorium ordinance introduced by North Smithfield Town Councilman Douglas Osier was approved by the North Smithfield Town Council at Monday night’s meeting. The temporary moratorium had been recommended by the North Smithfield Planning Board. Planning Board member Megan Staples initiated discussion of a moratorium. The moratorium ordinance addresses ground mounted commercial scale solar arrays.
