Trucks with more than 4 axles are banned by law from driving on those portions of North Main Street, Main Street, Greene Street and School Street which are in within 3 tenths of a mile to town hall unless they are making a delivery to businesses within the designated area of those streets (primarily the two historical commercial block buildings). The law needs to be enforced to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community.
On Monday a truck traveling north and taking a right off the bridge snapped the pole. On Tuesday while walking toward the library I saw this truck heading south turning onto the bridge. It caught my attention when I "heard it" taking a right off of North Main Street. Scraping the curb in front of town hall while coming onto Main Street makes quite a racket. I'm not sure what it hit while crossing the bridge but you can hear the sound if you turn on the volume.
