On November 6th town residents will be asked to vote on nine changes to our Town #Charter. Question 5 on the ballot asks if our form of government should be changed from an elected Town #Administrator to a Town Administrator appointed by the Town Council. Although I have advocated for that change in the past, I do not support the proposed charter amendment.
Hopefully the question below will be a good lead in to future discussions on this topic. I will be posting the correct answer to the question and stating my reasons for voting against Question 5 within a few days. Please feel free to post the answer you believe is correct as a comment.
QUESTION: In 2017 the number of town and school department employees who received gross wages of $30,000 or more was 261. The Town Administrator received $75,002.20 in gross wages in that year. How many of the 261 employees do you believe earned higher gross wages than the Town Administrator in 2017?
A.) 30-60 employees
B.) 61-90 employees
C.) 91-120 employees
D.) 121-150 employees
E.) 151-180 employees
*Gross wages: The total of an employee's regular remuneration including allowances, overtime pay, stipends, longevity payments and any other amounts owed, before any deductions are made.
