Town Administrator Proposes a 5.89% Increase in Tax Levy

Excerpt from the Town Administrator #Ezovski's budget message to the Town Council:

“The bottom line here is the budget that I am recommending will require a 5.89% increase in our levy not including the motor vehicle levy which will require a legislative action to override the required 4% cap.”

I was surprised the statement above did not appear in the Valley Breeze article. Buckle up folks!!

For the record, I don’t support the 5.89% tax #levy increase recommended by the Town #Administrator. State law restricts municipalities from raising the #tax levy by more than 4%. Exemptions in some circumstances are allowed but I don't support his plan to seek a waiver of the 4% levy cap. The law was created to protect taxpayers.
